Like so: You can find it at The new BOINC UK web site. Sorry, can't sleep and it's 5:20 AM. I have to get up in an hour and 10 minutes. Have BoincUK and Lookers merged? I thought that they were two seperate teams. Hey, great looking site! Have a look at ours. We use a different style but I still like it. Our Webmaster is a professional but does our site gratis. Like so: Hey nice site too! Hi to Austarlia from ya cousins! Thanks for sorting the url for me. I started with bb then went html and back to a new thing called bbhtml (hehe :))which resulted in my screw up lol!. Again thanks. Lookers is the team ( if someone was looking to join they would search for Lookers) but it also goes under the name BOINC UK & Lookers. It used to be known as Seti UK and Lookers. Its all one thing but boinc uk is the new domain and recently launched with new web site, sigs and now that great news letter. |

I understand now :) I was hopping you might be able to give us some advice on asking another Australian Team to merge with us, without offending them 8-O Tricky hey? Yeah a tricky one for sure. Best bet form a new Aussie BOINC federation and ask all teams to retain identity but join the federation. Create a council where the most senior and respected have private chats. Slowly introduce federation symbols and "speak" that will be used by all teams and members. Have common values. Align team aims. Give vocal people important jobs. This has a habit of working...look at The European Union....its all happened and not many noticed. Those that did got big jobs. Try that formula! Or you could all join BOUNCUK & Team Lookers instead I guess. Come to the Mother Country and be hugged! :-) |

Yeah a tricky one for sure. Yeah, look at that French team. WOW! Their huge and they did something very simmilar to what you suggested but they started before BOINC was released. Very smart move! Um, as for joining Lookers UK, well um, I think there is something in our charter 8-) PS I popped a link to this thread in our fora. We're now, unofficially, defacto sister teams :-) Click here to join the #1 Aussie Alliance on LHC. |

Best bet form a new Aussie BOINC federation and ask all teams to retain identity but join the federation. Or keep the existing team as a teamplate, but change the name. Though I see nothing wrong with BOINC@Australia - it's quite generic and descriptive. We've had similar discussions with the French (not to join us, but regarding setting up a super team) Or you could all join BOUNCUK & Team Lookers instead I guess. Come to the Mother Country and be hugged! The only problem is... Not all Aussies came from the same Mother Country :-) I guess we could have a "Earthlings" team - that should cover most of the inhabitants of this planet? |
