WOW, just got 17 units. But 6 of them only have estimated times of 3 munits. Will still keep the system happy for a while. 3 Mar. 2006 edit: first finished in 00:02:31, that was fast. 2nd edit: Went to get some on the other system, too late all gone. Pizza@Home - Rays Place - Rays place Forums |

My other system got some from the 2nd batch, now both can be happy. I suspended some other programs to give LHC more time on the systems. CPDN was allocated a lot of time on my machines and will get it back when these are over. That is a good part of the long deadlines at CPDN. Ray Pizza@Home - Rays Place - Rays place Forums |

Ray, I've got to say: that's the spirit. I always suspend my other projects when LHC comes up with work. I'm glad someone else also does. I really like how LHC has only put a small number of WU's up at a time recently. I would guess the turnaround time is much faster for those who dedicate more % to LHC than it is for the more casual crunchers. Anyhow, I just wanted to share how elated i was with more work. Both of my computers got WU's, I crunched a few overnight and still have 21 remaining... On a side note: Does anyone notice that their BOINC synergy "will be overtaken by" changes drastically from day to day? I was at a point a few days ago where there was a full list of people overtaking me, then none, and now one in 51 days. Seems strange, maybe it has more to do with the project being down... Anyhow happy crunching everyone, glad we have work to do! Mike blog pictures |

Ok, that was a silly question. I'm sure there are a whole slew of factors involved from pending credit, to new participants, to changes in participant accounts, how much work you are doing, etc... It was more of a rhetorical question. It was just something on my mind that i happened to write... Anyhow, glad we have work to do! It seems as if more and more work is being added slowly but surely, Mike blog pictures |

They would go faster if I suspended all others but evn half makes it gpo faster. Wonder how long they will have work this time. Pizza@Home - Rays Place - Rays place Forums |

Wonder how long they will have work this time. Unfortunately NOT LONG - unless they have another batch lined up. Front page now shows more in progress than waiting. Server Status Up, 54170 workunits to crunch 57505 workunits in progress 39 concurrent connections |

Wonder how long they will have work this time. I just did a quick inventory across the 4 machines I have crunching. I have over 150 wu's to keep the total credit climbing! I must admit I did play with the BOINC settings on 3 of the machines to get them though. Live long and crunch. Paul (S@H1 8888) BOINC/SAH BETA |

Maybe it is just me but I do NOT think that LHC is too worried about turn around time at this point. They have 1 week deadlines and tons of users begging for workunits. Since work is intermittent, I am sure they have plenty of time to analyze the results. I think the lack of steady work is do to the scientist simply not having any work at all to do on here. Am I way off base? |

I think scientist are working whole time, but doing perhaps some studies that won't need the crunching capacity of LHC. So there won't be so much work. How to continue the current LHC study depends on what the results will be. So only a bunch of new work units will be released from time to time. btw. We ran out of work again and pretty fast. |
