My Windows XP P4 desktop has a wireless connection to my router. It got 100 ghost work units during the last round of work and now already has three more. Should I disconnect this host or will everybody get over me "not doing" all this work? Is this the wireless card's fault? |

Not sure what a ghost work unit is. I doubt it's your wireless's fault though. When you download, Boinc does some math to make sure that the data has the right checksum. I'm not the LHC Alex. Just a number cruncher like everyone else here. |

Since this project initially creates two extra results per workunit ghost results are not as much of a problem here as they are at other projects. As long as the percentage of ghosts is fairly low there should not be a problem with leaving that host attached. Ghosts are usually caused by a connection problem. The server assigns work to your host but the host never gets the message. Your wireless connection could be contributing to this but it can happen with any connection type.
