I get this error when I check my pending work units.

Warning: mysql_fetch_object(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /shift/lxfsrk4101/data01/projects/lhcathome/html/user/pending.php on line 20

Can someone inform LHC programmers?

I woke up with a nightmare that all my credits were waped out from all programs, checked computer for results for LHC and found:

Warning: mysql_fetch_object(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /shift/lxfsrk4101/data01/projects/lhcathome/html/user/results.php on line 41

Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /shift/lxfsrk4101/data01/projects/lhcathome/html/user/results.php on line 45

Looks like that is in the codeing for the server, not the database, that should be good.

Please don't let me have that dream again after this is fixed.

If you can read this, it isn't the database - but a missing or damaged table would cause the same error.

Very truem so I think I will wait till that is corrected before turning in my last three units.

So, does that mean that a results that's send in won't count because of this damaged table? And why don't the LHC guys notice that their server is down. It's over 24 hours now. :(

If you do send results in before this error is fixed, it would be an idea to backup the entire boinc folder first.

That way, if the results do not go in, you can copy the folder back and *try* to send them in again (but this does not always work, it depends which part of the server/database is broken).

Unless you are close to your deadline, it might be better simply to not send the results in.

PPAH seems to have hammered my account entirely ... can't even log in any more. Says there is no account with my e-mail address. So, I can't even post a message to complain ...

I suppose that is one way to quiet dissent...

Also related (I think) is that part of the usual server status message is missing from the front page, all it currently says is
Server Status

Up,
55 concurrent connections

and (of course) it usually tells us how many WU are available and in progress - some info is missing that usually comes between the "Up" and the number of connections.

From the front page...
Parts of the database had chrashed due to a power failure in the computer centre. They are now back up and running.

Ok Guys.
It appears that not all of the results crunched while DB was down have been recorded for me.

I currently have 12 WU's left on my machines but there are more results (about 18) outstanding on my results pages.

Will this fix itself or what do i need to do.

Peter

Same with me. I'm missing 5 results BOINC sent back while the database error.
Let's hope they'll get this fixed.
Chrulle wrote in another thread:

We had a power outtage in the computer centre recently. The machine had rebooted and was running fine. Unfortunately it turns out that the workunit and result table had been coorupted. I am working on fixing it.

cheers,

Let's hope, he can recover the missing results!
