About 600K WU crunched in under 2 weeks. The physicits at the LHC and CERN should have smiles on their faces.

Yeah it went pretty quick. I noticed the pace started to slow down as we got closer to the end, guess people were pulling computers off the project and switching them to others.

Hopefully the next batch of workunits will be larger since they got completed so quickly.

I was smart enough to have BOINC download a lot of WU's just before they ran out. As of right now I have 6 unstarted WU's qued up. It will let me get more credit despite the fact that no new WU's are being issued. Just have to finish them by the deadline.

Naw. Just people like DJRWolf bumped up their caches because they want to squeeze every last credit out of the project -- even if it slows throughput to a fraction of what we COULD do at the end of each study. Even worse are those people who generate huge caches and then fail to finish the work even within the 1-week deadline!

In a project that DEPENDS on the completion of one study before sending out new work, you'd think that people would try to get it all done as quickly as possible rather than hording work so they can get that one more week of credit.

Yeah, there are a few people who have good reasons for a 1-day or even a 3-4 day cache. As wolf demonstrated, they're not why it's going to take a full week before we get anywhere CLOSE to finishing this batch.

I have a 4 day cache on my X2 4400+, and it got 96 WU :D
I also have a 4 day cache on my P133, and its just started its second large WU (4 days per 1,000,000 turns).

I must have done ~750 WU of this batch with my machines - some 1000 turns, some 1 million. Never missed a deadline, only one computational error :D

And so my wandering into Cruching, thinking I was in Cafe isn't completely wasted, I only have one LHC WU left. BUT I'm leaving three of my PC's active on LHC to try and catch any WU's that Time Out.

I should have increased my cache when I saw that no more WU's were being produced. I thought I had plenty of time. Yet again, my bad. Doh!

Between my two systems I have 6 left, hopefully I can pick up some of the reissued ones as they come out.
Looks like it is back to Rosetta & CPDN for most of my time.

Ths scientists on this project (more so than on any other project in my experience) know all about cache sizes and have been known to increase and reduce the deadlines to get the turnround they want. My response therefor is to assume they mean what they say, and to assume they will shorten deadlines at the end of a patch of work if that will speed up their analysis. In the November batch of work there were a lot of wu with 3-day deadlines, and I took the absence of these to indicate that time was not a critical issue this time.

Maby we will have some more soon, was hopeing to get the credit above what I have for predictor.

But this was good for moving me up in the rankings, My Stat's.

There are always some of them, did not notice them above. Who ever you ment we probably will here about all the units that they sent in when the databases were having problems and they did not get credit.

Will have to wait and see if they complaine about that. As long as they got what they needed out of the ones that I sent in then I am happy with it, even though I don't get credit for them.

The computers on my Boinc farm each connect once a day. When a project runs out of work, Boinc simply takes up the slack curnching extra wu's for other projects. I look at my TOTAL credit and RAC and don't worry about each project'

Hey the more people who care about their stats the more work will be done. You should be happy. Stat hunters are more willing to spend their dollars (or Euros) for their farms. Which is good news for CERN.

Take a look in the "science" forum. In there is a PDF of the results we have delivered. The last page of the PDF also proposes some "additional studies".
