I have uploaded quite a few results since the new work arrived a couple of days ago, but I am yet to receive credit for those WUs. Is it just me having this problem, or have I missed the boat somewhere?

Thanks.

As of now your computer has 5 results, one was granted credit, three are awaiting validation (pending) and one
is in progress.

All in all everything is fine. You may want to read the WIKI articles
about "credit", "quorum" and "validation".

Thanks! Yeah, the Wiki did help. Didn't realize that it could...

The other mistake I made was to forget that boincstats.com isn't a constantly updating page. My results data is delayed by more than 20 hours. This isn't a problem, just forgot about it. Meanwhile, I've gotten some credits (visible through the client software only).

Anyz, just glad I could assist in the project, the credits just make it that tiny bit more interesting!

The delay is particularly noticeable for BOINCstats - which does the daily updates around an hour before LHC produces its new daily stats.

Some of the figures in BOINCstats are updated at other times of the day, but the major updates (daily barcharts, etc) will always be almost a whole day behind LHC, and a lot more than a day behind the initial report if the result spends any time in the pending tray.

In the long run it will all come through, but it is not designed to be instant, and it certainly isn't instant.

To see when the stats were last output from LHC, look on this page at the file 'last modified' times.

To see when BOINCstats last did a daily update, look on the left hand side (scroll down) of almost any BOINCstats page

To see how out-of-date my stats are, compare the figures underneath my name on the left with those in my signature graphic below.

Yes, well that makes a lot of sense, now that you explain it like that.

I guess I was just a tiny bit hasty. It probably doesn't add in my favour that I'm in South Africa - being in a different time zone - although I don't quite know what time zone the servers run at. In other words, when I expect results on say Jan 15th, it might be listed as Jan 14th, because of the time difference.

At the end, none of this matters really. Whether I get credit now, or in two weeks time makes no real difference. I was just interested in the reasoning behind the system.

Thank you all for your posts!

Most of the reasoning behind the system is explained in the Wiki, you may have to wander a bit to find it all, but it is just about all in there ... somewhere ... :)

Don't hesitate to ask, some of us live to tell ...

The servers on all the BOINC projects are on UTC which I guess is closer to your time zone than to the time zones of the US crunchers. This project is pretty consistent at quoting UTC throughout, some of the US projects tend to mix their local time with UTC depending whether a human or a computer generated the time!

Of course its easy for me - at this time of year my local time *is* UTC!
