would it be possible for the project to change the sort-order in which the results are displayed per user/computer from ID to date sent?
it get's very confusing when one has to search through result-pages 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 12 for the most recently processed results.

Yes, I'd really like to be able to list them in order of date and alternatively in order of status -- status would be usefully ordered in the natural order of the crunching, so we'd see all the unreturend wu then all the pending wu then all the wu where credit was refused then all the successful wu.

Don't know how much extra processing the sort would take, but it would make it easier to follow what was going on.

HMM I am in favor of sorting the results as well. I don't have many results to sort, LoL, but I know what is like to surf through 20 pages to find the most current. Great suggestion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would be good if the results were listed in order of date sent, that would leave all the ones waiting to be worked on together. The way they are now you could have 5 to crunch and have to look over 10 pages to find them. SETI and Rosetta do a good job at keeping them in order that way.

At the top of the list it would be even better if there were sort buttons whare we could sellect the sort ourself, but that would make more work for them on the server.

Not always.

LHC sends out work with different deadlines.

The client has two processing modes:

RR where time is shared in a 'Round Robin' fashion over all projects, and in RR mode you are right that work is crunched in the order received, so date order would keep the outstanding work together

EDF where work is process according to Earliest Deadline First, regardless of which project it is attached to. This is used when the client predicts that any WU will be returned after its deadline or within a short margin prior to the deadline - you could regard it as a 'safety' mechanism.

This means that if a LHC WU with a long dealine was sent before one with a short deadline, they won't be done in order of date sent if your client goes into EDF mode, but they will in RR mode.

Should have mentioned that I ment for when BOINC was in round robin. Most of the time they should still be close to the correct order but not completely anyways.
