As soon as the 15,146 workunits in progress are finished by all the people that have not finished their wu's.

(all of mine were finished last night)

Soon after we will get another group of wu's.

The Scientists at CERN have to study the results before issuing new WUs, so sometimes they have a boatload of studies, and we are working on one while they study the last, other times they submit few, and we have to wait while the study the last. That's been the case in the last month.

The current group of studies is coming to an end. Small bunches of workunits will be created as we finish off the studies. There will probably be a pause while the results are studied.

From what I can comprehend - and that's not much - Geant4 is not running on BOINC, right???

Geant4 has been ported to the BOINC environment, but work is not yet being issued for it. See the Geant4 thread for more on Geant4, and see the posting from Ben Segal. The Geant4 porting documentation can be found at https://uimon.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/LHCAtHome/BoincPort

I'd include a link, but bbcode won't let me include a hyperlink to an https: page. Pathetic.

how do i get boinc to download a new work unit? because i've been done for a few day's and there were none.

start BOINC Manager
go to the Projects tab
check the column "status" for LHC@Home
if the status is "suspended", select LHC@Home and click on the "resume" button.
if the status is "Won't get new work", select LHC@Home and click on the "Allow new work" button.
after that it should download new work.
if not, tell us what you see on your screen and we will try to help you get more work.

A good idea also is to have a look in the tab "Messages". This tab is what I call "the goldmine for information".

If you are running other projects Boinc thinks it has to much work and will not request any from LHC until it can handle it....

Hi GAZ

Are you running any other projects?

What BOINC version are you using?

It could be that you have built up a short term debt, STD.
If you have then just leaving it alone and it will sort its self out when it has
crunched enough of any other project you are crunching for.

Also - look at the WIKI - http://boinc-doc.net/boinc-wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

As you are participating in different projects, very probably the LTD will not allow downloading a WU for LHC@Home.

If you want to see what is the LTD for different projects you can use for example Boinc Debt viewer. You can download it from here.
