Sorry to burden with these questions, can't find simple answers anywhere. 1. Is there any advantage to this project (or E@H) in upgrading Boinc Manager from v4.45 to v5.2.2 ? 2. If so, do I need to select "No New Work", wait for WU's to end and then upgrade? Or can I upgrade on the run? Thanks in advance regards Robert Laughlin BOINC@Australia |

There is no "advantage" other than to be running the latest version of the BOINC Client Software. Because there is a fair number of bug fixes and enhancements, that is a personal choice. At the moment, I have not heard of any project raising the "floor" from version 4.19 ... You can follow the upgrade procedure in the Wiki, and it is conservative with a process for saving a copy of the old system "just in case" ... |

Let me know if there are problems ... the difficulty with writing these things is that what is clear to me may not be clear to you ... :) Always room for improvement ... if I can only get back to work ... :( |

No problems at all; up and running again. It took about 15 minutes to find and read instructions, and then perform them. E@H started straight up (screensaver working too); waiting for next batch of LHC@H to become available. Article is well written and easy to follow. regards Robert Laughlin BOINC@Australia |

Went away for 1/2 hour and returned to see my notebook screen being driven at a very high vertical sync rate - too fast for the video card. Back to "Blank" screensaver. regards Robert BOINC@Australia |
