Hi,
while BOINC is running sixtrack my CPU has a load of max. 5% only. I'm sure it can cope with some more...

I haven't changed my profile in that respect and it also happens when BOINC is "always" running. Any idea how to crank it up?

Thanks

Maybe I should tell you that I'm using a powernow daemon for automatic throttling of my AMD64. Anyway, all other applications cause the CPU to be powered up as soon as it's needed - why not BOINC?

Bye

Hm, why havn't I checked this earlier ;-) ?
Sixtrack was running at a nice level of 19. Is there a way of changing this to default to 0 when spawning a new sixtrack process...?

Thanks again

You will have to stop running the powernow daemon I'am afraid. Niced
processes are not considered real load ("nice" in top).
The other processes you mentiond are probably running at nice 0,
visible as "user" load in top.

New science apps are always spawned with nice 19. AFAIK there is no
chance to change that. And would probably be against BOINC philosophy,
because it should use only unused CPU cycles.
