Enough of projects switching back and forth between the two for forum posts and making previous posts by members unreadable! Pick one, or preferably both, and stick with it!

I like BBCode. Why? Because it's easy.

I could use either because I've done lots of html.

I would prefer to use BBCode on the forums because I use lots of other forums that are BBCode only and would be less confusing to me to always use BBcode on all forums and its probally easier for more people.

I remember on one of the other projects mentioning running a conversion after they had made sure the new server upgrade was working. Maybe that will happen here too after a while and all the old posts will be readable again.

Wouldn't be so bad if, as on other phpBB boards, you had an endless window of time to go back and edit your posts or the ability to delete your posts and threads. The team invites forum, for example, is a mess now because, previously, LHC only supported HTML in posts, and now have gone to the opposite extreme.

Well what gets me is the lack of features on BBCode that I've memorized and have worked since HTML 3.0. For example, I can't do a blockquote or fixed width paragraphs. Unless I'm missing something from the documentation I've read at BBCode's site, I'm not impressed with BBCode.

I hope they do here what they have done on some of the other boards, going through all posts and change the html code to BBCode. I know this has been done over at Seti.

Thankfully, they seem to have done just that, now. Saves a lot of clutter either trying to salvage or remaking team invite threads.

Yeah, I checked the other day and then it was done!

About the sigs, look here, please.

I fixed my own sig as soon I saw this change, but it seems that people must fix them themselves.

I am new here but have seen on other forums sites the ability to preview your post before posting that would help so as not to keep editing over and over to get it right also some sites give you the choice of plain style post where you must do your own BBCODE or going to an advanced page to help with the BBCODE its set up more like a word program you just type and it does all the coding for you

agree totally. This is the change I'd most like to see in the BOINC message board system.

Two more advatages:

Each preview would pick up posts that had been made in the meantime, and if someone else had got in first with the same answer you could just back out without posting.

And the 1hr edit limit would only start when you saved the post, not when you previewed it.
