Hi everyone!

After 3 months of continuous crunching LHC, today the first problem. A phrase in Boinc message tab saying "Master file fetch failed". This phrase has been an old friend of mine when I ran Seti some months ago... But I've never seen it before with LHC.

Is the scheduler OK? It seems, looking @ the homepage... So I think the problem is mine... Or better, i'm sure the problem is mine.

3 days ago I made a big upload of WUs (only one host here, it's #41814, my ID is 877), and looking at the big credits granted, i didn't notice that in the "results" page some WUs were not shown as "completed"... They looked (better, WUs ARE currently looking) as new, in process. In fact in my results page I see many Wus "to crunch" with deadline at 25 Oct which I've already crunched and sent and correctly reported. My Boinc work queue has no more wus with that deadline, and i'm sure that those WUs have been calculated by my host.

Now the question: As only today the problem with the scheduler appeared ( 4 wus ready to upload and no way to do that!), better reset the project now to avoid "crunching for nothing" the 25 WUs in queue, or can I hope in a server-side repair of all this lost work?

Sorry for my English...

The problem with manual server-side repairs is the risk. It's likely to cause more problems than it solves. Whilst it is a nuisance, the 'lost' work will be reissued by the server in time automatically, and much more safely than by one of the admins fiddling.

Your best action is to reset and start again. Chalk the lost work up to experience. We've all done it at some point.
