My curiosity has gotten the better of me...this individual and I share a couple of work units, and his <a>processing times[/url] are rather interesting. http://lhcathome.cern.ch/results.php?hostid=62783 |

All his results are invalid, the client probably errors out on every workunit. Het won't get much credit fot that. BOINC.BE: The team for Belgians and their friends who love the smell of glowing red cpu's in the morning |

That is exactly what has me puzzled, though. They are all showing as successful...although with zero credit claimed and, in some cases, issued. Again, I'm not on a witch hunt; I'm simply curious. It appears that this fellow is crunching at a phenomenal rate, so much so that we're all just baggage. :) If it isn't legitimate (and I can't see how it could be), then he's figured out how to return a "valid" result without actually crunching the work unit. Would that not indicate that he has also 'cracked' the client somehow? |

Over success done only means that the Science Application did not abend. Because the SA "thought" the work was done correctly, it is reported as "Success". But, the work is invalid, rejected by the validator and he wasted everyones time ... The Wiki is your friend ... Thank you, Mr. Buck. :) I'm a regular reader of the BOINC Wiki when time permits; I didn't have time to research it properly in this case. I appreciate the responses; my curiosity has been satisfied, at least until the next 'hey-that-doesn't-look-right' moment arises. Good day to all. :) |

<blockquote>Over success done only means that the Science Application did not abend. Because the SA "thought" the work was done correctly, it is reported as "Success".</blockquote> holy hell, Paul. What are you--an old Netware admin? --twitch-- Here I thought all was right in the world for a little while, and you had to go and say that. I hope you're proud of yourself. 8) ON POINT: it looks like whatever the offending host's problem(s) were, they've cleared up, because it's returning valid results again. He only went through 270 results in two days. Yikes. (j) James |
