Specifically, check points only exist between rendered models according to the people running the project. The last 2 take the longest time to process, so anything over 81% complete, and it's completing these, a shutdown can result in a significant portion of work being done, being lost. All still do, you only need to read the posts here to see that some people have trouble with LHC. Since the 4.77 Rosetta client was issued, (I got it 23/9), I have only lost one wu to "client error" all others, (couple of pages of them), have worked fine.
