I understand the technicalities of the search process. It's the assumptions that defeat me. We are talking alien life here. There will probably be no commonality of thought process. Our one-sided science hasn't hit on the issues that affect our alien friends. Their equally one-sided science can't conceive of the assumptions we're making.

We're far more likely to find life on Mars than we are to find signals in the radio spectrum.

Yes - I saw that report. I also saw the report a few weeks later demonstrating that the structures observed could be form by purely chemical and physical means - no life need be involved...

I've got some new workunits named "wboinc7rpt_v6s4hvnom_0__1__64.254_59.264__8_10__6__80_1_sixvf_boinc86275".
I wonder what are these rpt ones - repeated WUs with adjusted params?
