I like to know if this is going to go on year end and year out. Or will this just run out of work and that it? |

The Sixtrack program will not run forever. It will continue doing runs on and off until the LHC is built (2007). In the meantime we are looking into running other simulations under LHC@home. At the moment we are trying to run Geant4, this is a simulation program that models the detectors in the LHC. Chrulle Research Assistant & Ex-LHC@home developer Niels Bohr Institute |

The Sixtrack program will not run forever. It will continue doing runs on and off until the LHC is built (2007)..... Hey! I just joined today, on the strength of a link from http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html .. so, if the project was supposed to end in 2007, why are NASA still pushing it? Oh, and no; I have not received any work from LHC. Yes, I have read other threads which refer to the intermittency of data, so please don't think that I am whining! Just a bit puzzled by your statement. Thanks, anyway. I'd love to even just SEE the LHC, let alone work on it. |

The LHC's turn on date has changed since the original post at the time (September 2005) the expected turn on was 2007, this has shifted to later this year |
