could it please be possible to put on your hompage what the boinc preferences should be to get work from the lhc@home project. please just one answer from lhc itself. message boards only keep us in the dark. ![]() |

Since the current shortest deadlines are 5 days, you need to ensure you set your connect preference to less than 2.5 days. You also need to ensure you have a decent resource share, typically more than 25%. You also need to ensure you have your computer(s) on more than 12hrs a day for any of this to work. (matters only for portable computers) no Do work while computer is in use? yes Do work only between the hours of (no restriction) Leave applications in memory while preempted? (suspended applications will consume swap space if 'yes') yes Switch between applications every (recommended: 60 minutes) 60 minutes On multiprocessors, use at most 4 processors Disk and memory usage Use no more than 30 GB disk space Leave at least 0.1 GB disk space free Use no more than 85% of total disk space Write to disk at most every 360 seconds Use no more than 75% of total virtual memory Network usage Connect to network about every (determines size of work cache; maximum 10 days) 2 days Confirm before connecting to Internet?
