From the 24th of August: "The studies are almost done. We only lack 300 jobs. We will then do post analysis to determine where there is more work needed. This will be about 8* 28'000 1'000'000 turn jobs." That sounds rather as though our little LHC pet project is almost done - 28,000 jobs will probably last for two, maybe three days. So, is this the end of LHC on BOINC? |

There have been several pauses in the project. LHC tends to work a little differently then say S@H or P@H in that it issues a load of work, gets it crunched then collects all the results together, analyses them, then issues more work. The analysis cannot begin until all results are in, (hence the many complaints over people hoarding wu's), and the analysis takes a period of time. There will be new work, when is always an issue here. Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |
