SETI, Einstein, Message runs at lowest possible priority. If CPUIdle is active then CPU is shared 50% for BOINC and 50% for CPUIdle. When LHC starts, it uses 100% CPU and does not leave anything to CPUIdle. Because it is hot where I am (room temp. 34C now), the computer runs very hot and if loaded 100% it overheats and crashes. If 50% CPUIdle then everything is OK. This problem prevents me from running LHC@Home for now (despite of the fact, that my PC has a lot of unfinished workunits).

Looking forward to this be fixed in the next version:)

Maybe you should check your voltage settings for the cpu or get a better cooler :-)

Check out this link. Down the page a little bit is a utility called ThreadMaster. Although I've never tried it, it seems like it should do what you are wanting it to do.

Also, make sure your heatsink is on properly.

Had an IBM craptiva that crashed all the time.

After getting a new machine, noticed that the heat sink on the old craptiva wasn't on right.

I'm not the LHC Alex. Just a number cruncher like everyone else here.
