I too am unable to control mouse or work with the LHC screensaver on. I have to power off computer to regain control. How can the LHC screensaver be shut down? I cannot find a control in BOINC or on the LHC prefs. Jim Reynolds |

Seen this too. also the screen flashes sometimes to 'white' and the sytsem is very unresponsive. But if you wait until the LHC job i suspended and another projects becomes active you can use your PC again. This was with client-version 4.19 and 4.25 on windows. I now upgraded to the lates 4.45 client, but in service mode, so I deactivated the screensaver altogether for now. |

Does this mean that I have to deactivate the other screensavers for SETI, Climate Prediction, and Einstein as well by using another screensaver? Is there some other client/app I can download to better control LHC? Thanks jrzplace |

Finally determined the only way to accomplish a reasonable trade-off is to set the preferences so the BOINC projects that are functioning on the computer are suspended until I finish using the computer and then they resume processing until I utilize the PC again. The only problem with this is that I cannot primarily select LHC@home which seems to have the problem. ALL processes are suspended rather than 1 descrete process. |
