I'm running 4 BOINC projects but only LHC appears not to have a screensaver, I just get a blank screen. Is this normal? Thx Dale Version 4.25 on XP Home. |

UKdale -- There is in fact a screensaver for the LHC project, but it is a little more graphics intensive than either SETI or Einstein, so it takes a while to become visible (say about 15-20 seconds). Two other issues may also have an effect here -- The first is that early versions of BOINC Manager did not properly display the various screensavers. Supposedly, this has been fixed with the release of version 4.70, but I cannot state that from experience as I'm running version 4.45. The second is that there are certain combinations of graphics processor chips that do not respond to the screensavers. In those cases, all you can see on your screen is a bouncing symbol indicating the BOINC process currently running and the completion percentage for that work unit. If I've lived this long, I've gotta be that old |
