Can someone explain to me what it shows? I see green particles clumping and unclumping? What are the particles and what are they doing? I looked around for a description page, but none makes itself conspicuous. |

It's kind of show of protons going through the accelerator tunnel, but in reality it has nothing to do with the actual simulation. We have plans to show details about the actual simulation but they are still in the design phase. Markku Degerholm LHC@home admin |

Is it normal for the autopilot to turn in them diengage straight away ? it just keeps looping through engaged/disengaged |

It'd be great if future versions could show some subset of protons (randomly selected maybe) in what the tunnel actually looked like! :) --- David C Thompson, intellectual property law. Stanford Law and Policy Society |

Personally, I would like to see the wall get blown apart when a proton goes astray and smashes the wall. Ok, so there is an angry destructive side of me. At least it is held only to the imaginary world. :) Jim > > It's kind of show of protons going through the accelerator tunnel, but > in > > reality it has nothing to do with the actual simulation. >>Personally, I would like to see the wall get blown apart when a proton goes astray and smashes the wall. I'm sure that a BOINC developer could write a routine which makes your computer explode.... ;) I'm not the LHC Alex. Just a number cruncher like everyone else here. |
