Our physics dep. promised to give out new work soon. They said "a lot", let's see how much is that:) Markku Degerholm LHC@home admin |

Yes, well, so far ... all their "a lot" have been way to little for me! :) As Babish told President Bartlett, "Bring it on ..." :) Now, if we could just get them to start thinking on the next expiriment while we work on this one ... I could go to sleep a happy guy ... |

Thank you for the update Markku, will pass it on to our "very anxious' LHC crunching team ;-) <img src="http://www.boincstats.com/stats/banner.php?cpid=162d855da85b4ee993029a39cfeed63a"> |

so.... Soon = today and Tomorrow = some time in the future, but not the day after today. and By the end of the week = not the end of this week, just any week in the future. |

Well, the news says 20K, the staatus line says 125,000 ... so, I am not looking a gift horse in the mouth ... |

Thanks for the work guys, your screensavers my favorite of the projects! |

Some clarification on terms: job = workunit and workunit = X results. Currently X is 5, meaning that each workunit makes five results that are sent to the clients. So, to be precise, the Server Status should say "NNN results". But for a first-time user "result" is a bit misleading - after all, it means something already done. So we chose to use "workunit" which isn't that far from the truth. "result" is a database term. In BOINC database a result is a "result" even before it's computed. But because it's used in database, it's used in the BOINC jargon generally. Markku Degerholm LHC@home admin |

> Thanks for the work guys, your screensavers my favorite of the projects! It is one of mine too (Einstein@Home's is neat too) ... But I still can't figure out what the fireflys are doing ... it does not look to me like it is a representation of the particles in a race track ... nor as a cross-section ... So, I don't know how it reflects reality ... thot that I run the graphics all that much ... |

It doesn't, I guess. It's just nice to look at =) |
