> After Carl Christensen retired/ran away/quit/was fired/whatever, I remember an e-mail exchange I had with Carl a couple of months before he left. We'd been diagnosing a Fortran problem within the file handling in the project. He'd told me he was leaving, and almost as a joke, I asked if he needed a new Fortran programmer. He replied... -------- actually we do need a Fortran person (I'm leaving in two months) -- are you interested in moving to Oxford, UK? -------- ... I was, but at the time, my wife wasn't! Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream. |

I finally detached my laptop from that project. > > I am also slowly moving to 4.43 or later on the BOINC Client Software. I do seem to have the problems they are having. I have my clients set to connect 0.5 days. Although I usually don't download very many WU's at a time, I have always had at least one WU from my project set as a whole. The only problem I have seen is that the back off timer doesn't seem to work properly. But, I don't pay enough attention to my clients to know for sure. I set and forget. LOL Jim |
