Even though we haven't complained lately (last post 1 day ago)... We still would enjoy to have some work. We are not resigning... Ok.. I can only speak for myself.. and my team member... :-)

Cheers

I'm not ditching LHC also.

[edit] that's what BOINC being multiproject is all about. [/edit]
Thumbs up.

Thank you for your moral support:)

I'm hoping too to get some new work. There should be lots of work remaining in the studies but I'm not sure what's the problem this time. I'll try to get some new information.

Thanks! Some of us are particle physics junkies ... even though I can't figure out what the graphics is really supposed to be showing me ... I mean, it does not look to me like any group of particles running around the race track ... even as a cross-section ...

Thanks for the small update Markku....

I as well tend to favor LHC above all the other BOINC Projects and would prefer to run it as continuously as I do Seti, but CERN sure doesn't make it easy.

Markku: Please go and crack the whip on those hamsters..err... I mean Scientists and get them to spin us some new work from their little spinning wheels please.

Why resign? The BOINC client can keep itself busy with other projects while we wait.

Yes, but ...

CPDN is having multiple problems, Einstein@Home seems to have just gone off the air ... so now we are down to SETI@Home and Predictor@Home ...

But Seti@home has validator-problems, and for not overboarding the validation backlog I suspended this project (with: no more work), so there finally left PAH!

Yes, I can hardly wait until we have a couple more projects going ... It seems we go in cycles, and about once a quarter we get where almost all of the projects are right on the edge and each one is having different difficulties ... :(

But, it is the nature of the beast in that NONE of these projects have "lavish" funding ... so we just have to grin and bear it ...

Viva Las WHAT??

One of the client is getting some computation errors.
might it's to hot here or the "problems" are siling from one project to another.

There is no reason to detach.
It looks much better to have nothing to do from several projects instead to have nothing to do from just one project.

Perhaps it's more relaxed, to let run the clients without watching them to close, just one time a week to see if they are still alive:)

Let's take the cold beer outside in a loverly Biergarten...

Viva Las Vegas...

Let's crunch some from the alpha side, that is the better way to waste cycles then to work for Seti Beta.....

You mean LHC alpha side?
there is no scheduler working:(

The seti beta is in a conflict with the public project;)

Don't tell it to anybody,
but burp is offering work NOW!!

you are right, normal water is still the best.

The avatar? Well using prereleased beta versions of boinc clients;)

Well, Pre-Alpha and ALpha, heck even Beta projects are too hard for me ... :)

It is ok, I have cpdn to fall back on ... though one of my work units has 3 days of computer time and 0% progress. 10 trickles, but with the credit problems they are having I am not sure what is going on there ... I guess I will risk it till this week end and if it does not straighten up ... BANG!

I went bang with CPDN a while ago. It is just not as forgiving with computer crashes and lock ups as the other projects, especially if you run development releases of BOINC. CPDN always seems to implode and you end up never completing a majority of wu's. So much for checkpointing. All up pretty frustrating. Almost as frustrating waiting for work from CERN, but atleast now I hear some is on it's way. I'm still looking forward to the million wu release, but I'm not holding my breath!

Twiddling my thumbs patiently......

I don't see any problems with the other projects? I have wu's from all of them and have not noticed any troubles with either getting or delivering them.

Wave upon wave of demented avengers march cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.

I lost faith in CPDN. After Carl Christensen retired/ran away/quit/was fired/whatever, the project has been going down the tubes.

The only place I have had consistent troubles with CPDN is the PowerMac. So, I just run three projects on there. My other computers seem to run all the 5 production projects well, so, that is cool ...

I am also slowly moving to 4.43 or later on the BOINC Client Software. To be honest I am still trying to figure out what other people are having troubles with on these later versions... ah well, I guess I can be thankful that I don't have problems my own self...
