One of my machines (the slowest one) received 11 of these strange looking work units:

w1_lhc.new_err_2004_bb_err__1__64.1_59.11__10_12__5__54_1_sixvf_boinc78_1
w1_lhc.new_err_2004_bb_err__1__64.1_59.11__10_12__5__72_1_sixvf_boinc80_3

The rest have various names but they all look similar.

These are using SixTrack 4.67 and are 100k turn from what I can gather.

Do these few drops of work to a thirsty man in the desert of no work from LHC mean good times are once again around the corner?

Or will it be business as usual, and when these are gone, who knows when the next batch will show?

Hmmmmm time will tell I guess, just happy to have something LHC related to finally do.... ;)

It was weird....one minute I'm happily crunching some seti then....BAM they just started showing up on my slowest machine (AMD XP2100, 768MB RAM)...almost as if CERN somehow targeted it specifically.....Muhawahawaha!!!! (LOL)

My faster P4's are not receiving anything, even after repeatedly updating the client or resetting the project

Now they are 25.... I'm totally baffled... I hope there won't be more coming!
Fortunately (little consolation) they are on my P4 HT machine...

How much credit do they claim, generally speaking? I've finished downlading them. Time to completion it says 43 seconds.

Looks like a tenth of a credit.

Given the appearance of "err" twice in the WU names, I believe they are testing.

Testing what, who knows. Is it the difference between XP and 2000's value of zero? Or perhaps the discontinuity area of some equation?

I've got for the first 10WUs between 0.08 and 0.15 Credits.
...now my PC downloaded 82 of this WUs, somebody else with more WUs here? ;-)

I got 4 of them. Estimated time 1:05 (that's 1 minute, 5 seconds!) on a P4, 1.8GHz, non-HT. They haven't started running yet, so I can sit and look at them in the queue...

I got more than 35 units, all lasted no more than 45 seconds each. Were processed, sent back and nothing appears in my results, someone should do something about this!

It seems they are lost in the middle of nowhere. What a pity!!

I'll probable have to drop the project. And believe me I am patient, but some things go beyond all limits.

Yes, I know they have all disappeared from the results page.

I also saw my HT machine go idle on one cpu while crunching these wu's. Shutting down boinc and re-starting helped, also just leaving it until the one running wu completed seemed to work as well as next time I looked 2 were at it again. Lucky for me I didn't see the hung app.
