QUOTE - 20.5.2005 12:39 UTC "Good News: The latest run has finished successfully. Two of the five studies we also ran locally. The studies run on LHC@home are 100% identical to the control studies. Some new scripts have been developed which hopefully should increase the speed and ease of use of the job submission. Finally we are planning a big study of the beam to beam effect, hopefully starting next week."

hehehe ... maybe the developers should be more specific about which next week they are referring to when they say next week ... :P

LHC guide to time:

Today = tomorrow

tomorrow = next week

next week = in 2-3 weeks

this month = next month if you're lucky

end of this year = first half of next year

No offence at LHC staff meant! :-)

This seems to be a common trait in the IT business. Usually a predicted amount of required work gets exceeded by a factor between e (~2.72) and pi (~3.14)...

since yesterday evening (29.05.05 20:00 UTC) something has changed in the database. Since then the request of the client has increased dramatically; that mean, request every 1 min. to max. 14 min.

Also, and that is the most positiv thing, my CPID at LHC has finally (after 2 month of searching) synchronized with the other projects! And I don't know why ... ;-(

There are still the old pendings from mid april to erase!
