It Appears all finished workunits going to pending, getting same answer when I access db on all workunits now...also had 3 results on a workunit a few hours ago nothing granted... seems like this sort of thing happens as they load database for next run... we shall see |

The Server has been like this since about 7 PM EST last night, all the WU's are going into the Pending Account's. I hope this isn't going to be like the last time my pending credit jumped over 3000 credits and no Credit was or will be granted for any of them that are dumped into the pending accounts ... Since last night my Pending Credit has gone up over 1000 credits again ... |

Wait for the new 1 Mio WU's! greetz littleBouncer [EDIT: 10:15 UTC] Sorry , I was a little bit wrong, the db has crashed ... :-( They have fixed it... :-) I'm waiting for the next release of work.......... The workunit table had chrashed again. Something very bad is going on, but we have no idea what is creating the chrashes. Whatever it is it seems to only involve the Workunit table. The table should be working, so please check again. Chrulle Research Assistant & Ex-LHC@home developer Niels Bohr Institute |

Whats wrong with wanting Credit for WU's that are turned in before the Deadline & are Valid WU's & Request the Proper amount of Credit, I can't help it if the Server sends the same WU's out to 6 Dozen people and only the first 3 or 4 people that turn in the WU will get Credit & the rest can go Kiss the Sky ... Thats a hell of a way to run a Project and attract new Clients IMO ... Any body that asks me about the LHC Project I just tell them to go buy a big jar of Vaseline because their going to need it ... :P |

But my first thoughts are the following questions: 1) have you located the table in a seperate physical file (I know Oracle can do this, but am not sure with MySQL)? 2) Do you run maintenance on the tables on a scheduled basis? 3) are you moveing the results to an off-line database and purging the on-line database of these work units? 4) does MySQL give details about what goes wrong with the table? 5) Has any other project experienced similar problems? 6) Have you given thought to moving the datafiles to another physical media? 7) Does the event have periodicity? 8) Does the event seem to correlate with project events, like the end of a data run? You don't have to answer, I was just trying to suggest some thoughts as part of a brain storming thing. Unfortunately, I found enough to occupy my thinking in the field of logical design of relational databases so I am only passingly interested in the physical, um, junk. I mean, I had to stay aware of some things to not make the physical DBA's job impossible, but it was never my thing, sorry. :( |
