I have had something similar happen to me on a host. I had less memory left on my hard drive than what I was telling Boinc in my general preferences to keep free. Hope it is just that simple for you. |

Hi CPDN is a disk drive muncher. I would look at offloading the past work to DVD's or CD's Unlike other projects CPDN leave the processed data on your machine. ( I reckon they want us to store their Petrabytes I have processed about 12 WU and it has consumed 3.39GBytes of storage This equals about 57,000 credits |

The only problem is, I have almost 18 gigs of hard drive space available... |

But do you allow boinc to use that space? You have to check your settings. Chrulle Research Assistant & Ex-LHC@home developer Niels Bohr Institute |

Hi Yes you can set the disk usage limit. This is also a point to check about the available storage. About deleteing the WU data, I have seen post saying they would prefer it if the result folders where archived before being deleted. The disk usage issue is not an issue for me yet. I have raid 0/1 with 160GBytes available as a drive. So I have some way to go yet. I am only upto 54GBytes used. The settings are in the General Preferences. 2 Settings to check At the most use X Bytes and use no more than % of disk drive It is odd thou you think CPDN would delete the unit if not required. I would classify this action as sloppy programming technique. |

The files are very large; the models are not reviewable immediately. So, if you do the work and it is interesting they may ask you to send in the files either through upload or via disk. As the zip size is pretty big, dial-up users have a real problem, especially if they have metered service. So, compromise ... And BOINC does not have a feature (yet) to allow a delete long after the WU is off the client ... |

OK, I'm only running LHC, and I've never seen it take up more than 20megs of disk space... My HD capacity is 28.6G, with 11.3G used and 17.2G available. I've had my prefs set at use no more than 100G, leave at least 10G free, use no more than 50% of the total disk space, and use no more than 95% virtual memory. That clear anything up? |

OK, I'm only running LHC, and I've never seen it take up more than 20megs of disk space... ========== Out of curiosity I just looked at 1 of my Computers & it says the LHC Project is using over 124mb of the Hard Drive ... :P |

Poorboy I'm using 148 meg on my top host ,just looked , but what does that mean, depending on many factors ie: preference settings, cpu type/speed,ram... etc, other than he may be doing less slower than ours. whats his rac haven't looked sorry |
