There is more work available. Many problems seem to have been fixed.

What is the state of the project? Are your results consistent and correct? Is your database performance/integrity what you want it to be? How about your server hardware? Any software updates or fixes still in the pipeline? Is your communications infrastructure and bandwidth what you want it to be? Anything else that you might want to share?

Indeed.... Remember Admin's & Dev's, the way to a project members heart is through their eyes and ears with regular and consistent communication and updates....

So, how's everying in CERN land.....?

Not that I have anything to do with the project at all - other than to crunch wu's, but......

1. The front page says...."We are only lacking 10 WUs of the test. All the returned results have been checked and are 100% correct." Which is great news for consistency of results and their overall usefulness to CERN.

2. In the last few days we have had work coming out of our ears! And man is it disappearing fast. Which is great news for the project and their servers. Have you seen the dreaded "No schedulars responded" message with the latest batch of wu's...if not, then the servers are handling things well.

3. Initially there was a bug in the downloads, which was promptly fixed. Which is great news. This means they have a dedicated staff to service this project.

4. I can only assume (and you know what that means) that this latest batch of wu's is another test of BOINC as a useful project for them. If we/it pass(es) this test then wooohooo, we are in for the big time! A test of server capability, a test of result consistency and a test of speed of overall wu completion time.

Under no circumstances can you expect regular and consistent communications and updates. Most projects have ample volunteers and if you don't like it you can shove it....we are, after all, a commodity. But the sentiment is worthwhile and it would be nice to have an update soon.

From the arse end of the world....Live long and crunch!

The results from recent runs are collected by the sixtrack people (it takes some
time before all the results for one study come back). The results obtained look very good and the server is running fine. Thank you for all the contributors!
Some more WUs are expected soon.

Thanks for the update.

What I would like to see is some background information
on the WU's we are crunching.

Which particles, how much particles, how many turns
around the ring, what the expected results are,
did the outcome was as expected? And much more.

Maybe this could be put on a different page, which
is maintained by the actual physics guys/gals.

Just a thought...
