Yes, and many download errors ... I have 14 download errors on two computers ... sigh ... but I did get work of everybody ...

WOrse than that ... I have 30 failures to download on 3 computers ... but I did get a goodly number that say they are ready to run ...

I also had tons of download errors. It appears that the WUs are getting loaded in the available queue before their files are either generated or uploaded to the file server.

26 WU failed on 50. Wow, that's more then 50%.

About 10% were download-errors, never had this before here.

Maybe we were too hurry:-(

I guess we are all getting these failed downloads, I've got ten of this machine alone.

Within my 'Work' tab I am seeing about ten of these units with a status of 'Download failed' - do I delete them or let Boinc clean them up itself.

It will be cleaned when new WU's are downloaded.

You can 'update' the project, then BOINC clean them up, or you can let the Client work....

yes I saw this too, and it is this what I mean:'maybe we were too hurry......'

With all these failed downloads 3 of my machines have exceeded thier daily quota but have very little work, and I guess when I am allowed to download more work there won't be any :(

good thing I checked this thread - whn I came home this evening I saw a bunch of these download errors - and wondered if my internet connection had been severed for a while after starting downloading. No need to worry then :)

There was a momentary failure in the server-side job submission system. So it seems that some workunits are without input files. We'll try to fix up the mess. Daily quota will be temporarily increased after that.

Invalid work units should have been cancelled now and daily quota is set to 150. Please report if there are further problems.

Edit: Internal tests show that problem remains... Investigating...

Edit2: OK, I think that's because there are still results of those cancelled workunits in the server buffers. It's easiest just to wait for them to fail... New results for the cancelled workunits shouldn't be generated anymore.

it's heavy!

Well, most of the people have hit the limit of 50 already and there are yet some bad results. And people can control amount of work to download in the preferences pages. But if things start looking bad, I'll make a compromise and set it to 100.

Love to know what happened [edit - it sure helps to read the whole thread first!] . I thought I was seeing the same problem that Predictor was seeing and I had a bad host! Glad to see it just wasn't me though. So out of all the wu's that were available only about 30% were downloaded successfully? That's gotta hurt.
