I am curious why suddenly there seems to be a backlog of pending credit that is getting larger and larger each day with very little work actually being granted credit per day...

Example: I 'posted' only 4 cobblestones yesterday, but my "pending credit" went from 511 to 625 in that same time period.

The *new* WU's are all 100000 turn so I would think that they would be finished quickly enough by the others in the quorum to grant the results if I had returned the first result?

I'm not complaining because it will eventually sort it's self out, I am just curious as to what might have happened behind the scenes that's different

Thanks... :)

That is the effect(*) of start then stop of the project(from the LHC-side); each time it takes 4 days that enough results are returned that they get validated when they are reported.(there must be 2 other success returns and yours)

(*)result is an up and down of pending, RAC, and ...and...

Ahhhhhhhh.... OK then. Now I understand. Everytime there's new work, it will be at least 4 days for the project to 'catch up' to where it should be, then when they run out of work, that amount of time starts all over at the beginning when new work eventually shows up.

It's very much like the old saying "Which came first, the chicken or the egg"? VERY circular reasoning...

I wonder if I will reach 1000 pending credit before they catch up this time??? LOL

Why WU 89306 isn't granted yet (Host 30552, even it is 'only' 53.90 from the 100.30 claimed credits)
also strange:
no lines like 'canonical result' and 'granted credit'.

greetz littleBouncer
and another WU not granted ?????
is there starting a problem?...?...?

You just reported that WU about 1 hour ago LB and already you have to make a post about it not being granted credit already. I'm sure the Validator has it's hands full right now with all the Monkey WU's that were issued a few days ago being turned in...Your Precious WU Credit will be granted it's credit when it's time comes and not before...

The only problem is that you have no Patience LB, you expect every WU you turn in to be Granted it's Credit immediatly, I have Hundreds of WU's waiting for Credit to be Granted and I'm sure other people have that many & more also, you don't see us posting about every one of them do you ...

When a WU is granted by three previously hosts and a 4th. result come-in, then this one will be granted immediately.
(that is the usual behaviour of the validator)

Look at the small differences on why I post. Do not only reading it in hurry and answering, and then thinking....

greetz littleBouncer

Otherwise I just reported this result, same CC, same Host, and it was granted immediately......
So fare a feedback on your remarks of 'to be inpatient'

===========

That is not the normal behavior of the Validator, I have WU's dating back to early March yet that 3 people have been granted credit for but I have not yet & the WU for me still just show's initial for me ...

There There LB, you'll get your Credit ... hehe ... ;)

Here is a WU I turned in about 20 minutes age to disprove your theory that the Validator gives you immediate Credit if 3 people already have been granted credit when you turn in you Results ... As of this post the WU had not yet been granted Credit ...

Every WU is different, some give immediate credit and some you may have to wait for ...

Looks like credit granted.

posted at 7:44pm Pacific time.

I'm guessing the Validator performs different updates at different times.

I'm not the LHC Alex. Just a number cruncher like everyone else here.

That's the growth of credits granted the last 4 hours of my account.

Data collected every 3 minutes.

For me, it looks like, the vali is doing the job very well.

Imagine the total number of all contributors!

The Validator is Working, how fast is anybodys guess. My Credits are going up Daily, but my Pending Credits have increased by 4 Fold over the last 4 days also ...

I still think all the Monkey WU's that are being released have slowed the Validator down some in it's effort to keep up with all of them that are being returned ... ???

Yes the validator does his job correct for the WU's send out on the 21th of this month, but it seems he is in trouble with those from the 12th:
example

BTW : with the 2'000 credits from Alpha I got my first 100 K cobblestones overall:-)

=========

Maybe it is for you Ric, but I've only had 1 WU Validated in the last 5 hr's while my Pending Credit just keeps going up up & away ... hehe ... ;)

As a side note & I've brought this up before also, why is there still (Not counting the over 150 that are Requesting Credit) 224 Pending WU's in my Account that show 0:00 Credit Requested. And every one of them that I looked at Credit has been Granted to 3 or 4 People but I still just show Pending and the WU is still just in the Initial Stage yet...

Is something going to be done with these Pending WU's or are they just going to sit there forever cluttering up my Pending Page. I say either Grant the Credit if I have any coming or get rid of them ...

A lot of these WU's date back to Late February & Early March so what is the point in keeping them in a persons Account if Credit is never going to be Granted anyway ...

I don't care if I get Credit for any of them but just would like something done with them so I don't have to wade through them every time I look at the my Pending Credits Page ... :)

Good question. I'll investigate this sooner or later...
