But I agree, if you are not going to obtain anything positive from it, there is no sense in doing it. Now, I also agree that everybody is entitled to have vacations. Good for them!! However... do we actually depend on one man being on vacation? One more thing, the front page should give us some more info than the one being published, even if it is only to say "Guys, no more work for two weeks", but then we will know and take it easy. Please, do not misunderstand my words, being a non-english speaking guy I hope I make myself understood. So this is what I think you call - constructive criticism. Regards from Spain |

There are so many other projects with loads of work to do that we shouldn't waste any processing power on redundant work - else it will be like Seti Classic, crunching just for the sake of crunching. But I'm certainly looking forward to some more LHC units so I can climb higher on the top users list ;-) Edit: Speaking of the top users list: I have completely disappeared from it today! I should be between number 200 and 201 total credits, but I'm nowhere to be seen except in the RAC list. I guess that's what happens when I brag too much of my position :-D |

I mean.. One constant thing in LHC is... the lack of WU's and the fact that if they'd post: No work today, but tomorrow 2000 wu's? That would kill their servers... Cheers, Thorsten ![]() |

Got it!! - from both of you sysfried and Kenneth Larsen and I agree, so forget it, I will not put any more of these messages, just the ones truly interesting. Let's all go help (I dislike crunch) the other projects, while LHC gets back to us! Regards. No problem - no offense at all! ;-) |

> > (I dislike crunch) > > You too? I despise that term! I always say processing instead. :) Ok, I will be more careful! :) I agree, I don't care for it much either ... I think I use processing (or its root "process") almost all the time ... |

> But I'm certainly looking forward to some more LHC units so I can climb higher > on the top users list ;-) Me too ... But, I think we are likely to continue to "fall" on the lists as more of the heavy hitters come off of the SETI@Home Classic project. Even with identical resource shares I am dropping on all projects with the exception (I think) of Einstein@Home. My drift downward on the BOINC list is smaller with the addition of the Dell dual Xeon, but, when I see people with 16K Cobblestones Average for a day ... envy! |
