Over at the Seti forum, someone generated some stats of
"> 3 times = 50% validation success
> 4 times = 59% validation success
> 5 times = 71% validation success
> 6 times = 82% validation success
> 7 times = 94% validation success
> 8 times = 99% validation success "
Based on a sample they saw using one of their machines.
Would those results match up to what we get at LHC?

If so, then one could do some math to come up with a 'total number of work units needed to be processed to get 100 results' kind of calulation.

ie..
Reduncancy WU crunched iterations
3___________581__________7
4___________720__________6
5___________685__________5
6___________657__________3
7___________772__________2
8___________808__________2

I'm not the LHC Alex. Just a number cruncher like everyone else here.

Alex, you might wanna reread the thread I did in the Seti forums. I did another re-examine of my results and looked specifically at the number of days seti had to send out a WU until a successful result was obtained.

cheers

Well, that changes the calculation for number of wu's to send out.

And I am work on entering data for a broader look at this issue as my project for the moment. I have a few more hours of data entry to go ... should be done this morning (if I don't lose my fingers) ...

I have a new page in site-misc with a link in the SETI@Home forum ...
