I have changed my LHC share preferences but when I do an update, nothing changes with my BOINC percentages for LHC. Messages say there it succeded and gives no indication of new changes even though when I recheck the account on-line, the changes are there. Anyone know if there is trouble at LHC or is it just me?

Wait until LHC is back up and running. It will eventually change for you on your local client. It won't matter now anyway because the BOINC CC is reallocating LHC's share to the rest of the projects you are running.

Or, if it really bothers you right now, change it back to the number it was before, then change all the other BOINC projects to achieve the percentages you need. Don't forget that the total of the numbers can add up to anything and not necessarily 100.

If you want to see the change right away even though the server is down, you can change it manually.

-Shut down the client.
-Backup your account.xml for LHC in case you make a mistake.
-Open the account .xml in a text editor, and change the resource share number.
-Save the changes and exit the .xml file.
-Restart BOINC, and you will now see the new resource share.

The BOINC server doesn't issue updates to preferences if there's no work to issue. It was a fix at SETI in the early days of BOINC to reduce server loading. Now that better servers are in place it's on the list to change it in the server code at some point.
