It seems like I am getting this message almost every WU. Even after a WU restarts ,one such message follows: 2/28/2005 8:11:56 AM|LHC@home|Restarting result v64boince6ib1-41s10_12660_1_sixvf_9828_2 using sixtrack version 4.64 2/28/2005 9:16:40 AM||Couldn't write state file: -109 So after a period of time passes the error comes up. Any help or correction procedure would be appreciated. Warm Regards, Rocky <img src="http://boincwapstats.sourceforge.net/summary.php?name=ML%20Cudd&team=US%20Navy&seti=123863&einstein=4173&lhc=1091&climate=2545&predictor=7916&style=6&ctx=yellow"> WinXP SP2 Boinc - 4.44 Have A Great Day! |

Rocky (m$) got this error earlier with other boinc projects too. It doesn't mean it's the same at your end but might it helps. The errors origine was, the boinc client could not write to the file c:\\..\\boinc\\client_state.xml perhaps a virus scanner is opening this file at the same time, the boinc client wantes to update it. In my case, it was a boinc management application sitting on the mentioned file. In short, "something" is sitting on this file. regards ric |

Thank You Ric, I found the problem! It is with Microsofts new AntiSpyware Beta program. I had to disable the "Real Time Protection" mode. I have since uploaded several WU's with no problem. To make sure this was the problem, I enabled the Real Time Protection and tryed to Update my LHC and the same thing happened, Could not Write" So I appreciate your help, maybe others will pick up on this if they are having similar problems. Warm Regards, Rocky <img src="http://boincwapstats.sourceforge.net/summary.php?name=ML%20Cudd&team=US%20Navy&seti=123863&einstein=4173&lhc=1091&climate=2545&predictor=7916&style=6&ctx=yellow"> WinXP SP2 Boinc - 4.44 Have A Great Day! |

Thierry > Hi Paul, Hi! :) > I think your work will never finish ;~) Yeah, especially since I am so slow at it. > BTW, how are you doing? Bad, sad to say ... For most of the morning I was walking around like a drunk again ... so I have not gotten much of anything at all accomplished ... well, nothing USEFUL at any rate ... then again ... what do I know ... :) The only good thing is that almost no matter how bad it gets, if I can find something of interest to do on the computer (that I am able to do) it does help me to get better ... Today I been working on some database things for the site, though, mostly for the humor aspect. I mean, I always hate places that take themselves too seariously... so, that is why I try to make it fun, at least as best I can ... And playing with the data I already have I may have some insight into the 0 seconds problem ... not that this should be something the project should not already know ... but this is not the thread for that ... Anyway, tomorrow is anther day ... |

I burnt a CD from another machine with several files I wanted to move to this fresh OS install. I included the account_....xml files for the projects I wanted on this box. It seems that when I copied them from CD to the BOINC directory it took the "read only" attribute with it. Right click on the file, properties, remove the "read only" flag and all was well. Just another thing to check. - da shu @ HeliOS, "Free software” is a matter of liberty, not price. To understand the concept, you should think of “free” as in “free speech”, not as in “free beer". |

So maybe the problem is > a combination of several things? Hi Harri, I don't know what other issues it could be. I have cleared every additional program off my task manager, turned on the real time protection, and got the same error. I turned it back off and no error. Are you running SP2 with your WIndows Xp? I appreciate your help. Regards, Rocky <img src="http://boincwapstats.sourceforge.net/summary.php?name=ML%20Cudd&team=US%20Navy&seti=123863&einstein=4173&lhc=1091&climate=2545&predictor=7916&style=6&ctx=yellow"> WinXP SP2 Boinc - 4.44 Have A Great Day! |

If it had not been for the completness of your Site I would not understand the programs as much as I do right now. So again...Thank You! I'm glad that you could locate your problem to this, I just wanted to tell that there maybe more to this than just the Antispyware Beta (MoBo, drivers, etc.). As said earlier I haven't had this problem. Now without any WU's it's hard to make any tests :-( Regards, Harri |

I was looking more towards running programs. I too am now anxiously awaiting more WU's. I have one machine that still has a few, but the will finish today. Happy Crunching, when all is back to normal!
