Well I was wrong on both counts, the Time Reset problem exists with both v4.19 & 4.24 Clients, I just had 2 Long running WU's finish on 1 Computer that took about 9 hr's of crunching. 1 reported the correct time the other reported only 23 minutes. So it's just not the v64lhc WU's only, the v64boince type WU's are doing the time reset also. It's been a very frustrating day, WU after WU just reports with 0 Time or very little time at all on all my PC's ... Predictors looking better and better to me, I wasn't having this problem over there ... |

I know how you feel PoorBoy.....but patience is a virtue. I want my efforts in helping this project recognised. The only form this recognition comes in is credit. By not getting credit then our efforts are not being recognised. The only saving grace in this, is that it should be happening to all of us fairly evenly (per wu - except if your a linux user then it appears that your the problem - not you as such, but you know what I mean). Secondly, the more we crunch the more likely the cause will be found and I for one am willing to continue my efforts. (but damn it's hard when you loose 80 credits per problem wu!) http://lhcathome.cern.ch/results.php?userid=5472 <p>__________________________________<br /> Zero's : </p>Over......Success.....Done.......ZERO[/b] I wonder if I can get a couple dozen more of these. Good thing I was running these on the older pc. Not to mention as usual the SETI server is passed out drunk for the 3rd week in a row. (the reason I mention this is for 3 straight weeks I made a 30 mile round trip to load my other pc and get seti running again and by the time I get home the server is down) Power out......so much for Cali weather and sunshine. I guess I will load Einstein on the other 2 pc's since it seems to always run for me. GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Volunteer Mad Scientist For Life |

since it was me who started this thread, I can report that the zero granted issue is limited to early LHC launch WU's... (just like Makku and others suggested) I'm running CC 4.19 on XP and W2K... all recently reported results turned out just the way they're supposed to. So, I'm quite happy now... :-) Cheers, Sysfried |

Early wu's...like hell. This one I got yesterday http://lhcathome.cern.ch/workunit.php?wuid=49579 Live long and crunch. Paul. |

This one I got yesterday > > http://lhcathome.cern.ch/workunit.php?wuid=49579 > > Live long and crunch. > > Paul. ========== I agree, I downloaded new WU's Last Night & 9 out of 10 are reporting no time or very little time ... I can sit there and watch the WU's go from 1 hour up to 10 or 11 hours and see them reset to 0:00 time when they finish ... It goes on and on like the Energizer Bunny ... hehe ;) I think people are starting to jump ship because my pending credits are climbing rapidly, and I can't blame them ... |

Hehe... Here are my first new credits... And notice how they handled that 0 CPU time result. http://lhcathome.cern.ch/workunit.php?wuid=42684 |

Go Figure ... hehe |

Let me mix in with the rest of you. http://lhcathome.cern.ch/workunit.php?wuid=42387 (22365) claims I ran for zero seconds. I didn't. Hmmm...jump ship is tempting. With my current set up I should have an RAC of around 80 or 90 for LHC and it currently is at 30. That's a lot of credit gone missing. |

So due it's for everybody, it's a social thing, it's fair. surely (let's hope!) the people at LHC stuff are getting some night shift to solve this crediting issue. In term of scientific view, might the returned resultes are as important than the "non credited" work. depending the cpu behind a RAC of 30 is not bad! Imagine it could be zero. happy crunching (perhaps it's solved with new work) |

Now went to three in a row that ran at zero seconds and demanded zero credits. So whatever the admins changed, change it back, as it's killing credits. http://lhcathome.cern.ch/results.php?userid=1947 Jord BOINC FAQ Service |

I've been keeping my Access to the Internet Disabled so I can see whats getting turned in, I just just turned in 20 WU's with only 3 of them showing any Time, that was just off 1 Computer. All the rest of my Computers show similar return results, I've figure right now only 10%-20% of the WU's turned in are with Time, at least on my Computers anyway ... |

> It looks like it's a common glitch so far. So due it's for everybody, it's > a social thing, it's fair. > Surely it is social; but... also the overall RAC/Total decrease and for this it isn't "social" in comparing with other crunchers, who don't crunch for LHC. For the "boince"'s I got credits, not so for the "lhc"'s , for the 20% chance remaining credits I send them immediately back! greetz from Switzerland littleBouncer |

hehe ... to add insult to injury I see Pirates at home keep sending their pesky WU's, I've got about 50 the last day or so, they all took 30 seconds to run and only about 1 in 10 report with any time ... |

> also the overall RAC/Total decrease > > and for this it isn't "social" in comparing with other crunchers, who don't > crunch for LHC. > Yes you are right! Was not thinking this:( PoorBoy, did the same yesterday, but wasn't pleased what I've seen, more than 50% without "time code" I have to admit, not realy looking at the "Result page" so I don't see those "0" much. Is it as unlucky as written above? EDIT: midnight just passed in switzerland (new day=new epoche) and the queues are refilling up |

For the "boince"'s I got credits, not so for the "lhc"'s , for the 20% chance remaining credits I send them immediately back! ========== @littlebouncer Your correct, the boince seem to have a better rate of Time return than the lhc type WU, but I've seen them reset their Time also back to about a hour & a half after taking 10 hours to crunch ... |

I have to admit, not realy looking at the "Result page" so I don't see those "0" much. ========= @ric Same here, I really don't have to look at the Results Page, I can see whats going back when I send the finished WU's back in. Theres no sense in reaffirming the Dismay Time returns by looking at the Results ... :( I seem to be getting a fair amount of credit each day but thats probably because I was still crunching on the "boince" type WU's yet that they sent out last week, but I'm into the "lhc" type WU's now so it's probably all downhill from here ... hehe |

Did anyone else notice, that Boinclogx shows 0 time for LHC WUs while % are shown right? I also saw, that when restarting CC, LHC starts WUs from scratch. IMHO the LHC app has more than one screw loose. [EDIT] LOL!? This is crazy: http://lhcathome.cern.ch/workunit.php?wuid=56631 [edit] |

It all is tied in with the failure of the Application to record periodical Time Checks. So when the WU finishes or you Exit the BOINC GUI it just goes back to 0 because there is no other Time Check for it to go to ... Whats really frustrating though is the fact that when you do get a correct time reported for a WU is you get 0 credit for that one too because somebody else didn't get a correct time reported, so we end up getting screwed from both ends ... :( |
