Take a look at this: http://lhcathome.cern.ch/workunit.php?wuid=2126 Does that mean, I wont get credit for this WU? |

I believe you will get credit for this wu, once a second person returns a valid result (which may still be 0 cpu time and then you will get half your claimed). Live long and crunch. Paul (S@H1 8888) BOINC/SAH BETA |

Hell... Now, take a look at this: http://lhcathome.cern.ch/results.php?userid=3120 And tell me if I stand a slightest chance of getting credit for these finished WUs... IMHO I just wasted 20 hours of CPU time. If I get another "Too many error results" for my third finished WU, I'll detach. (Yes, I am that furious.) |

We share your pain, no wait, we don't ... you have your computers hidden, so we cannot ... |

IMHO I just wasted 20 hours of CPU time. Sorry, no chance. The BOINC has already removed all the files related to those failed workunits, so there is nothing I can do to revive the workunit. The workunit got many failed results during the bad signature period. And then, after new results were sent to you, the error quota got full and the workunit failed. This is very unfortunate but shouldn't happen too often anymore because the signatures are now correct. > > If I get another "Too many error results" for my third finished WU, I'll > detach. > (Yes, I am that furious.) v64lhc88-47s14_16575_1_sixvf_2671_0 and v64boince6ib1-23s12_14660_1_sixvf_11690_1 should be OK. v64boince6ib1-51s6_8630_1_sixvf_2127_4 belongs to a failed workunit. Please skip that one. We're sorry about this. But BOINCing is not always without problems. :( Markku Degerholm LHC@home admin |

-I lost this way with 2 Hosts and 3 instances about 60 hours of CPU-time. -And not enough: even the 440 pending credits from last year are lost. -A HD has crashed (fortunately it is under warranty, but at least for 1 week this box is in the repair center -> no crunching!) -And this thing about "zero CPU time": if it isn't my box which returns full runned WU's as zero CPU time, there are others and I get 0 credits even there was claimed. It is not a 50/50 chance to get granted; it is maybe 20% of the WU's I'll get credits. Why I don't detach; I don't know. I hope the problem is solved, when I reattch in 2 weeks the repaired Notebook! greetz from Switzerland littleBouncer |

Ask the boys at SETI and they will ask you if BOINC ever has a time that it is running WITHOUT problems. Jim > We're sorry about this. But BOINCing is not always without problems. :( > ========= > > Is BOINC ever without Problems is the real Question Markku ... hehe ... ;) > > |
