I've been running this version nearly 24 hours on 3 computers. one, win98, one WinXPsp1, and one WinXPsp2. Uploads, downloads, Reporting, and everything else seem to be fine. disclaimer the Boinc core client 4.2X line are developmental (alpha) software. They can do some strange things and are probably "Buggy". Once this line is "Debugged" it might turn into the latest Official Release, but for now the most stable and Official Release is 4.19. Please stick with 4.19 unless your willing to risk having problems. [edit]this version has run both 4.63 and 4.64 applications without issue [end edit] Tony Formerly mmciastro. I found a new message from Rom Walton on the seti forum, number crunching. Heres what he has to say Rom Walton Forum moderator Project developer Joined: Apr 27, 2000 Posts: 284 ID: 85465 Posted: 25 Feb 2005 22:48:40 UTC I am pleased to announce that the new client is ready for those who want to Beta test the client. We are down to just a few bugs that need to be fixed before we can release to the world, but given the usage numbers, we would like to get some more coverage on a broader selection of machines. If all goes well, we'll be releasing the Windows client in the next week or two. We have also started to use a bug tracking service that is publicly available. You can sign-up and track the progress of a bug that you are concerned about through email or the website. Or you can add any additional information you have about a bug. Feel free to check it out at: http://bbugs.axpr.net/index.php Thanks in advance. ----- Rom BOINC Development Team, U.C. Berkeley Tony Formerly mmciastro.
