My system downloaded a work unit today and it completed in 8 seconds, is this right? LHC@home - 2005-02-22 14:20:22 - Starting result v64lhc95-38s18_20530_1_sixvf_1137_8 using sixtrack version 4.63 LHC@home - 2005-02-22 14:20:30 - Computation for result v64lhc95-38s18_20530_1_sixvf_1137 finished |

Sometimes the protons are lost from the accelerator very fast depending on magnet configurations (errors in magnets) and initial conditions of the protons (their positions and angles). When a work unit is completed in a short time it shows that protons were not on a stable orbit and this is a very valuable result for the LHC! |
