Monday I tried getting work with my OLD key/account from last year. I had not Detached. When I tried to get new work I got OLD KEY message. OH, I was using 4.22. I detached, reattached, reattached, reattached several times, finally got through. Download 6 WUs All failed. Uninstalled 4.22, installed 4.19. Detached, reattached, reattached, reattached, several times before it took. downloaded work. Ran out yesterday. Uninstalled 4.19 after seeing Markku note about signing being accomplished. Installed 4.23, got work right off.

does this help?

It is supposed to be fixed, however I have not seen any reports one way or the other.

I'm still using 4.19. No headache of all those new features. Yet.

I did install the v4.24 on 1 Computer over 1 v4.19 installation & at least I didn't lose the WU's I had, but I won't know until it downloads some more WU's if the Downloads fail or not ...

4.24 does contain a few fixes. Two fixes that I read have been fixed are the corrupted text in the message window, and the other fix is for the access groups on NT based systems. Seems to run fine at home, but I am reading quite a few reported bugs with it.

One 4.24 data point:

I could not get LCH running using 4.1x on a W2K machine. Uninstalled 4.17, installed 4.24 6 hours ago. Other WU's resumed OK and now LHC is running.

Bonus - I like the interface improvements.

Yes, after resetting, detaching and re-attching, 4.19 is crunching LHC WU's with Sixtrack 4.64. And thanks for mentioning that I had to check and merge the phantom computer.

If someone has a report about whether their fix actually works, I am certain that it would be appreciated.

Anyone know where to look in BOINC's CVS for a changelog/revision history? Just spent about half an hour reading quite interesting things but don't really know where to look.

John, I did download some WU's yesterday with the v4.24 on 1 computer & v4.23 on another without failure, so I guess the Signature thingy problem is working now ...

Before I upgrade; I read always the newest post in the [boinc_alpha] - Forum about the releases.

Sometimes I do not right unterstand the statements there.(because I have to translate them, as I'm alone here I can't ask somebody if I did right-)

So I tried to get some infos here, and as it seems: I can risk an upgrade.
THX for any replies

In particular I was interested in the Users - Benutzer bug. This was a problem with the German install. It is supposed to be fixed, but has not yet been verified.
