As the model loses particles, it speeds up. If it loses all of the particles, it is done. There are also three different lengths of WU that I have seen 10,000 100,000 and 1,000,000 turn WUs. I believe that the 10,000 turn WUs are used mainly for code testing.

The number of turns are inside the fort.3 file. Looking to one of the first sentences, you can find following:
TRACKING PARAMETERS-----------------------------------------------------
100000 0 30 3.87821 4.52458 0 1

The first number is the number of turns the particles should do.

The 1Mio. turns WU will take the predicted time (10 - 12 hours, depends on benchmark)
The 100000 turns WU will take about 45 minutes to 60 minutes.
The 10000 turns WU will take about 2 minutes to 10 minutes, and it seems (as John McLeod VII suggest:) used mainly for code testing.

>>"1Mio. повороты WU возьмет предсказанное время (10 - 12 часов, зависит от стандарта)
>>100000 Поворотов WU передаст около 45 минут 60 минутам.
>>10000 Поворотов WU передаст около 2 минут 10 минутам,...

From my conections in 09:33h UTC + 2 I "finish" 6 WU to 13:48h UTC + 2

After update, server return "LHC@home - Message from server: No work available (daily quota exceeded)"
I set LHC 35% from resurses for 2 day... bit onli for today I want 25 - 30 WU?
