After many days of LHC@home being "down," I decided to detach it from BOINC until such time as it was "up" again. However, when I tried to re-attach LHC@home to BOINC I was informed via a dialog box that BOINC couldn't log on to LHC@home. My account number is correct, as it enables me to log on to this web site; and the uniform resource locator is also correct. So, what must I do to re-attach this project to BOINC? Your advice in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for helping! =^..^= ![]() |

You can not attach to a project when the server is having problems. There is one way around this restriction. If you have an account*.xml file for the project from another computer you can drop it in the BOINC directory and it will attach automatically whenever the server comes back up. Thank you, John, for your help! I'll wait for the server-health situation to improve and then I'll try again. =^..^= ![]() |

You can copy the file from one machine to another, but since it includes the authenticator, you are unlikely to find anyone willing to give you a working copy. |
