Just what we need, another Message Board Deity in the form of JAHMAGIC. It appears that your devotion to study hasn't endowed you with any real wisdom. Oh, and by the way, could we have a little more attitude please.

Sorry to say, that I have been receiving units for analysis during the past 3 days and right now I have 6 more to be processed and later returned. What I do not see, is that they are shown on the pending credit list of my account.

Does anybody else have the same problem?

@Lberto

If you got Credit for them already they won't show up in the Pending List ... Right now a lot of them are getting instant credit as soon as they are turned in ...

Thanks Poor Boy, that is what I just noticed, so that must be the case.

Any more fresh news?

So, is the current drought/lack of LHC Work because the project's finally moving over to their new servers/etc...?

There's been no peep on this in the official places, so we're all left just speculating and taking threads like this FAR off topic.... :/

ANY "Official" word would be appreciated on this.

Actually, I feel sorry for you. You seem like you are mad at the world. Nothing is ever good enough for you. Personally, i would bet you are not happy with yourself and your life so you are trying to make up for it by trashing people who are working hard on a project that has never been attempted before.

=========

Yes your right, but you know what really pisses me off is that people like you who think they are self professed Psychologists & know all about somebody else's life and personality haven't been eradicated from the World yet, I'll have to work harder on that ...

It's not my fault that I was Born Perfect & that I demand Perfection from all else ... I guess in your case your willing to run on 4 cylinders when 8 are available ...

What if Joseph Swan, a British inventor had just struck a match and said, Well thats good enough for me, we may all still be running around holding a match stick for lighting instead of actually having Light Bulbs. Of course that would probably be good enough for you I guess since you don't seem to care if things ain't right and seem to be willing to settle for less ...

Don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for yourself because at least I have the fortitude to let them know things need to be fixed instead of sitting idly by & willing to accept less ..

Yes, I remember hat thread PCZ as I had a few responses in it myself, I never thought much of it one way or the other. It's just a computer ranking and doesn't affect your total credit 1 way or the other.

Ok....Let's try this again.

Putting aside all the Off Topic namecalling & threadcrapping that's apparently allowed to run rampant here, can ANYONE put together a coherent answer to the question of what's the "OFFICIAL" last day of the LHC Project where they transition to the new server(s) and redesign the interface model? "sometime in November or December" is really not a very accurate timeframe.

If it's already happened, it would have been nice to have some kind of notification. If it's not happened yet, it would be nice to have some kind of notification when it does....

Not an 'official' answer, but...

The schedule according to the report is to take the project down mid to late November. Since we are now mid-November that means that CERN are now waiting to get the last results back, and the project will then go off line. I expect to see the last of it in early December.

Given the fun Predictor are having, and bearing in mind that Christmas will blight progress everywhere for three weeks I expect we'll see LHC@Home back in the New Year - maybe mid February.

Meanwhile, I remain connected and pick up a few late WUs, and run SETI and CPDN. In the new year we have Einstein@Home to look forward to, and hopefully Predictor will be back. Astropulse (from the SETI team) is under way again (more scientific than SETI, IMO) and may become available soon. That should keep us all busy for the foreseeable future. Happy crunching!

Perhaps it is more likely to produce successful or practical results. However, I do not see how either project is "more scientific" than the other?

this descision is done by the individual user hime/herself.
The user is mature enough to select the favorites projects.
Boinc or not boinc related.

no need for a guardian ;-)

--> much more in focus should be:

never say never!

got work from LHC, today, about 15h30 swiss local time.

deadline dated 29. of November

The alarm, was belling because no progress for the 2 SETI WUs (HT cpu).
Took a closer look, why the clients was alarming

cool, 50 LHC Workunits downloaded, client was following the preemting rules and paused the less prioritied seti work.

Unfortunately (so far) only one clients got work. :-(

Sunday I got some pirates! work and now today LHC,

keep attached with your favorites projecs..

Wasn't trying to influence anyone on which project they chose, or to say that any project is better than another. I was just saying that there is nothing inherently "more scientific" about either SETI or Astropulse (or LHC or CPDN or Predictor, etc.). And, I completely agree that any user should select the projects in which they participate.
