I would just like an official word that there will be no more WU's from LHC until the Project comes back up again in December 2004 or January 2005 so we all can attach to the other Projects if we are not already attached...

I agree with this, and certainly be appreciatted if we are informed to detach from project and just keep coming regularly to visit the page to learn when we have to reattach.

It would be nice to know. You people in LHC have always been nice, so let's keep this way and tell us if just detach and observe, or continue attached.

Thank you in advance.

They do have our e-mail address.

As a further sign of the nice and admirable work the stuff did,

it would be welcomed to put us to a mailing/subscription list

and send some "information" and/or "return to public online" emails.

( CPDN did it in case of possible trouble issues,
Einstein is offering a subscription possibility )

Under
LHC@home preferences
Should LHC@home send you email newsletters? = yes

I should check it, so at least they know you would like them to

I used already this feature at S@H/Boinc and at LHC@Home since the beginning, but never had an e-mail sended. I'm wondering if this "Newsletter" is already implemented.

The official "word" from the main page is "low on work", so things aren't over yet.

How do you people get more than 1 workunit at a time? I always get one when the other is finished but no more than 1. In fact you are taking Workunits away from people that get them one at a time.

The w/u I've received today are all _0, _2 or _3 w/units. Which tells me they are new.

Many of us have multiple systems. Many also have changed their cache settings from the default 0.1 days to something higher in an effort to ensure their systems are busy when the work gets spotty.

I love this expression...
It sounds so great, so exclusive..
sorry not bad thingking.
Here at home, I have a farm. A modest small farm.

Cache settings to 5.9.
But now, at least it looks like, the amount of work for all of us,
is going down slowly back. So the size it IMO, now, no so important

----------------------------------

This morning, an other schwupp of work,

dated 22 and some 23. of november deadline.

the 23. Nov dated, nearly all ending with _4 and _5.

fearfully watching the WU counters.

The day will come to say goodbye.

Those of you with more days of work are just slowing down the verification, if you have more than 1 days worth of wu's still.
==========

I'm still crunching LHC Wu's on 3 PC's but I am within Hr's of running out on all of them. I've already switched the other PC's to Seti and have been crunching that on them...I see nothing has changed at the Seti site also, I've turned in 100 3 hr Work Units so far & have had 1 Validated so far, that was the main reason I left Seti before and will gladly leave again once Predictor or LHC come back up...As far as I'm concerened Seti has been a POS from the start & hasn't changed a bit since then...

I already have Seti WU's on the 3 I'm crunching LHC WU's on but have my resources set to 10000/1 in favor of LHC so it won't switch to the Seti WU's until all the LHC WU's are run out then I'll change the resources to 50/50 in case I pick up a few more LHC units...
