Hello,

I have a problem with the application sitrack 4.67 and boinc 6.2.x (either 6.2.14,6.2.16,6.2.18) : the application stop running but doesn't give the cpu back, that means that the cpu stop working.

There can be two cases : first the application go to 100% then stop and the cpu goes to unused.
second, the application stop after a few seconds and the cpu goes to unused.

I tried to restart boinc service, to reset the project, nothing help.

During the last batch unit, I had also the same matter, so I came back to 5.10.45 and it worked.

The main host concerned is this one : http://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/show_host_detail.php?hostid=9695597
This is a win xp sp3 P4HT 3GHz, 1Gb RAM.

Some other people from my team have the same matter.

Thank you for your help.

I have got a machine with two of those..

Both tasks reached 100% (in about 25 mins) then got stuck.

BOINC 6.2.18

My C2D box is also displaying this problem, workunit stuck on 100%. If I suspend the unit, then the cpu is freed up for another task, but I can't seem to report the stuck unit.

Hi,
Alex has been doing some tweaking in the background this week so some issues have been resolved. We are looking into the others and fixing them as we find solutions. Also the SixTrack application and the newest version of the BOINC client (6.2.X) don\'t seem to like each other. The developers are looking into this problem and it will be fixed as soon as possible.
Later days,
Neasan

I suspect that due to the holiday schedules that updates to BOINC notifications were overlooked by staff. However, Alex has been busy as we can plainly see: the replies in the window do not go beyond the edge any more. :-)

Whenever there is time, a request for clarification to the BOINC development team might be in order. The only other problem I have personally experienced are with the SETI@home work units starting over and over which could be due to BOINC also.

The suggested switch back to 5.10.45 has possibly helped solve some SETI problems I've had with a Vista machine. I've since switched my XP puter back; now awaiting some LHC work units to test the cure since I only run LHC and the AI System work units on the XP computer. (BTW, there are always work units available from the Intelligence Realm site: http://www.intelligencerealm.com/aisystem/system.php if anyone is interested.)

Thank you for the suggestion, AF>France.
