This new version should scale the memory with the number of cores. The base memory is 2GB and 1GB extra will be added per core.

The new formula increases the RAM requirements for a 1core WU by a factor of 1.5 (why?) and by 1 GB per additional core.
Where do those numbers come from?
Is it just a rule of thumb estimate or is a qualified calculation behind it?
