Is Xtrack going to have steady work or be like SixTrack?

I would also like to know the answer to this question

Once upon a time SixTrack had plenty of work it also had a cool screensaver.

I am just happy that I occasionally get work from Xtrack

Right now it is just Linux and Windows

I'm not so sure about that. Currently there appears to be no work. Hopefully work will be available in the near future

That isn't run here and is at the test site

Message was the first post in this very threadTo be clear I am referring to the following message which is on the front page of LHC@home

New application Xtrack
As mentioned in this thread, we finally have the new Xtrack BOINC application available for beta testing.

Please refer to the Sixtrack/Xtrack forum for further details and feedback discussion. Tasks should hopefully be available by tomorrow.

Yep, with 8 hrs cpu wus, a gpu app will be welcome :-)

Will the RTX 30 series be able to help when it is released?

So once that is fully deployed (~2 months), expect to see a lot of jobs!

Cheers

We are ready!!

Indeed we are. I wonder what the chances of the GPU app getting deployed here will be?

Yes, at the time you posted that was the only project that had work to be sent out :-) as I am not a project developer or administration person I don't know the reason why only one project had work available to be sent out. Hope this answers your question

I can't answer the question you are asking, however I did notice (yesterday) on 1 of your hosts there were 22 work units that had timed out.

Just out of curiosity what is the size of this database? database and all working files...?

I would also be interested to hear about this information

Great news!
I hope this is the first step toward opencl...

I agree. It would be nice to see use of open CL. however this will mean we will get through work a lot quicker which is a good thing, providing there is the workflow to feed uses computers

My uploads have cleared too. Maybe it is because Atlas tasks out in the field has dropped to 5900?

Maybe results out in the field have dropped to 5390. Currently currently there is none of these these tasks to send out. Perhaps there wanting to clear some space of the discs? I certainly know upload speeds have increased from like 86 kilobytes a second last night New Zealand time to over 400 this afternoon. A much nicer speed.

Looking at it; but will be several months at least.
See my next status report coming soon. Eric.

To bring this thread back on topic. I have had a look through the news posts but I am not able to find anything relating to running LHC on GPU's. Is anybody able to post link to the status report in question?

Jay, another weird thing is the result showing as pending has now run time, the first time I have ever seen this.

I also have 6 results that have exited with extending the disk limit. Ranging between 1000 and 1500 seconds run-time

Unusual issue on my 2 pcs yesterday and today [22nd Oct] - 51 WUs failing to upload. Downloads coming in OK. No hint on Server Status page of any such problems. Got any thoughts. My pcs run on Xp and Win 7. Thanks.

I can also confirm that I can't upload tasks from my Windows 7 PC. I can't download any new tasks because they have too many in progress

Thanks for steps. I had a look & decided not to modify anything. Will let my 98 remaining tasks run (12 at a time) & hope they don't all error out. Thanks again

I found the problem I think in the init_data.ini file

<rsc_disk_bound>30000000.000000</rsc_disk_bound>, This is 28MB

Next 58% done is at 27.7 MB (29,048,832 bytes) 05:35:30 with 3 hours to go = i bet this would error, except i stopped boinc and manually bumbped up the limit and it got to 05:51:07 at 28.7 MB (30,146,560 bytes) and counting.

So this is the problem - The project needs to up the limit.

That's wonderful to hear you have manually fixed the problem. Can you post instructions on what to do to correct linit?
