I got another error code for lots of my WUs: "1 (0x00000001) Unknown error code". Could anyone please explain what is it?

Yep, I have deleted all my anscient hosts from project's DB (there were all my PCs since 2007). Now the computer with ID 10550820 got it's bunch of tasks!

I said "seems to be". The Computer ID displayed in BOINC client in the project's properties is 10453783. And it has a lot of successfully completed tasks as we see. Then something just went wrong...

Believe me, everything is selected in my preferences (all applications of the project and also test applications). I have 2 hosts under same account. One is receiving and processing tasks, another get the error.

It's all good, but the problem is that BOINC can't detect virtualbox which is already installed on Linux PC. And I see that there is still no any kind of quick fix or any universal solution for this problem. Otherwise it should be in all FAQs of projects which use virtualbox.

Can't say, since the project refuses to send any new tasks. I have installed cvmfs and Singularity on that host, I would like to try to help crunching ATLAS tasks.

You have Boinc 7.6.31.
Please upgrade to 7.10.2.
Sorry, its a Linux. Boinc 7.2.42 or your Version is useful.

There's 7.10.2 already.

Hi all! I see this when I try to get some new tasks of LHC@home:

Пн 18 июн 2018 13:49:28 | LHC@home | Resetting project
Пн 18 июн 2018 13:49:29 | LHC@home | work fetch resumed by user
Пн 18 июн 2018 13:49:32 | LHC@home | Master file download succeeded
Пн 18 июн 2018 13:49:37 | LHC@home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work.
Пн 18 июн 2018 13:49:37 | LHC@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU
Пн 18 июн 2018 13:49:38 | LHC@home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
Пн 18 июн 2018 13:49:38 | LHC@home | Not accepting requests from this host

What's wrong? It seems to be this host:
https://lhcathome.cern.ch/lhcathome/show_host_detail.php?hostid=10453587

GPUGRID's tasks are being processed OK.

Your most recent tasks show that singularity is not installed.
If your OS is not SLC6 (which is obviously the case) you also have to install singularity:
https://singularity.lbl.gov/

When singularity is working you should finally be good to go.

Finally it works... What a complicated project to participate! I highly doubt that there will be too much of volunteers ready to perform all that quest with cvmfs and singularity just to help scientists for free...

What is SLC6?

Guys, why there are 100% of tasks are ending with errors on this host?

Do you have CVMFS installed and configured?

Now I do:

eti@DetiPC ~ $ sudo cvmfs_config chksetup
OK
deti@DetiPC ~ $ cvmfs_config probe
Probing /cvmfs/atlas.cern.ch... OK
Probing /cvmfs/atlas-condb.cern.ch... OK
Probing /cvmfs/grid.cern.ch... OK
deti@DetiPC ~ $

Let's see if this helps...

We are getting flak about credits or points. One obscene message I tried to hide, but the user said he got only
200 points for 80 hours when he expected at least 1000, and another user 62.70 points for 110 hours. So we lost a couple of volunteers, but we are also getting support with over 40,000 active Work Units.

At my humble opinion, distributed computing was invented not for getting credits by participants. Let God judge them, meanwhile we (and particularly me) will crunch with might and main.

p.s. I dream now about deep upgrade for DC projects, hope it will became possible this year...

A factor of 10 seems right. Q6600s which were returning the old tasks in 37 minutes are now taking 370 minutes (6 hours 10 minutes).

Who knows... My Athlon 64 X2 5200+ usually needs about 30 minutes OR LESS for WU, but now it promises me to finish WU in approximately 6 hours. So, like chinese says, "wei?..".

The same situation was before too, but WUs coulb be sent normally. I am checking Server Status all the day, but WUs quantity is still 16800, and no one can be received by my clients... :-(

We will be seeing that message until the project either updates the server or releases a 64bit app.

When at last they will update a server code?! Using 64-bit BOINC client making me high, :-) , but using this version of BOINC I can't receive WUs of LHC... Tahmadah! :-))
