If you have at least 1 project reliably sending work 0.5 + 0.01 should be fine. Large buffers cause BOINC to request 0 seconds of work. Sorry i thought this made the difference, but it doesn't, i have removed all of my current workunits from different projects and i still don't receive anything. I have seen that some servers at LHC@home are not present at the server status page, could this mean that some servers are down?

Is there something else i can do?
